Tata Motors on Thursday reported a decline of two per cent in domestic sales on a year-on-year basis to 73,488 vehicles in May. Total sales of the Tata group auto major stood at 74,973 vehicles as against 76,210 units a year ago.

The company reported domestic passenger vehicle sales of 45,878 units (including electric vehicles), marking a decline of 5.9 per cent.

Sales of electric vehicles increased 66 per cent rise to 5,805 units.

Its commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market dropped 12.2 per cent to 27,570 units last month.

Domestic sales of medium, heavy, and intermediate commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses, fell 5.1 per cent to 11,442 units.
