The scooter will available at an introductory price of Rs 79,999 for customers who reserve the scooter for Rs 999 before Diwali (October 24).

The new S1 Air offers a two-tone body colour scheme and is available in five colours -- Coral Glam, Neo Mint, Porcelain White, Jet Black and Liquid Silver.

The purchase window for the Ola S1 Air will open in February 2023, and deliveries are scheduled to commence from early April next year.

The e-scooter weighs 99 kgs and claims to deliver top speed of 85 km per hour, and goes from zero to 40 in just 4.3 seconds. The new S1 Air is built on the S1 platform, is powered by a 2.5KWh battery pack and a 4.5KW hub motor. Ola has also announced its third major software upgrade within a year called MoveOS 3. With Ola Hyperchargers, users will now be able to charge their scooters upto 50 km in 15 minutes, at a charging speed of 3 km per minute.

Ola Electric is looking at taking its electric scooter to international markets, including countries like France, Italy and Germany, this fiscal. 

Last year, Ola had announced a Rs 2,400-crore investment for setting up its first electric scooter factory in Tamil Nadu. Upon completion, the factory will create nearly 10,000 jobs and will be the world's largest scooter manufacturing facility that will initially have an annual capacity of 2 million units

The launch of the electric scooter is in line with Ola's global vision of moving mobility into a more sustainable, accessible and connected future

In May last year, Ola Electric had announced the acquisition of Amsterdam-based Etergo BV for an undisclosed amount. At that time, the firm had said the acquisition of Etergo would further bolster its engineering and design capabilities in the electric mobility space
