Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal informed the opening of the scooter sale on Twitter. “Ola S1 purchase is rolling out now! We’re opening it in the order of reservation. Look for your invitation email or check the Ola app to know when it’s live for you!" he tweeted.

The electric scooters sale was supposed to go online on 8th September at 6 pm. However, this got intruded because of some technical glitches. The CEO shared information via a letter on Twitter.

He wrote: “We had committed to start purchases today for our Ola S1 scooter. But unfortunately, we have had many technical difficulties in making our website for purchases live today. I want to apologise to all of you, who had to wait for several hours. The website was just not up to our expectations on quality. I know we disappointed you and l sincerely apologise to each of you for what was clearly a very frustrating experience.”

Similarly, Ola Electric tweeted on 7th September that the delivery will be made on first serve, first reserved basis! The company is also providing an EMI plan starting at Rs 2,999.

The Ola electric scooter launched in two variants – Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro on 15th August. The company will start delivering across 1,000 cities and towns in October this year.

The Ola electric price starts at Rs 99,999, and the S1 Pro starts at Rs 1,29,999. In states with active subsidy grants, the Ola S1 will be much more affordable than many petrol scooters. After state subsidy in Delhi, the S1 would cost just Rs 85,099, whereas in Gujarat it would be only Rs 79,999.

The reservation and position in the purchase queue will not change as it is made on first serve, first reserved basis! “Our delivery dates also remain unchanged,” he mentioned.
