Confirming that Maruti will launch the new WagonR on January 23, 2019, the report said that the new car is expected to come with a price tag of Rs 4-5 lakh (ex-showroom). The new car will be loaded with more space and more safety features.

According to the report, the auto major is also planning to unveil Wagon R's all-electric version in India by 2020. Although the two cars will wear a similar badge, they will be very different in terms of their appearance as well as features.

The new WagonR's petrol version will reportedly be an evolution of the current best-seller. Further, the new car is expected to continue to carry the tall-boy design.

Flaunting its earlier blunt and boxy design language, the new WagonR will have a few curves thrown in for good measure along with more premium features, the report said, adding that the design language on Indian version still remains a closely guarded secret.

Further, the new WagonR will sport features like a touchscreen infotainment system and inbuilt navigation for the top variant. Other features likely to come include rear parking sensors, a rear view parking camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, besides being more spacious as compared to the outgoing model.

The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR car is expected to continue to offer 1-litre, 3-cylinder, K10 engine. The car may also pack either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox along with CNG option.
