Mercedes-Benz today launched the all-new version of AMG E-63 S in India. The price of this premium car starts from Rs 1.05 crore (ex-showroom). The company now offers 14 AMG models in the country with the addition of this new model "Our AMG strategy in India has been very well received by our discerning customers. We will be launching many more AMGs and other cars through the year," said Mercedes Benz India Managing Director and CEO Roland Folger.

The AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ is the German carmaker's fourth launch of the year, followed by Maybach S650, the new S-Class facelift and the GLS Grand Edition. This car is the top-of-the-line E-Class and the company claims that it can do 0-100kmph in 3.4 seconds. 

Some of the exterior profile of AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ as been quite similar to that of the standard E-Class. The company has also retained some of the smooth lines from E-Class on AMG E 63 S 4Matic+. On the other hand the new car's AMG Panamericana radiator grille and the front bumper are new. It also has a slightly larger air intake and the sporty exhaust setup at the back.

The wheels are matte-black AMG 20-inch alloy and the arches are half inch wider than the standard E-Class. The AMG E 63 S 4Matic+  houses AMG 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that can produce 603bhp of max power and develops 850Nm of peak torque making it the most powerful E-Class ever made.

Folger also added that the company already has a market share of around 50 per cent in the high-performance car segment. The high-performance car vertical in India currently stands at around 500 units a year.

He added that the company has sold 4,556 units in the January-March period, a growth of around 25 per cent over the same period of the previous year, while commenting on the company's sales performance during the year so far,

"This has been the best ever sales quarter in our history in India. It is a great performance despite challenging conditions," added Folger. He also said that the company expects sales growth during the year to continue in the same manner as last year.
