Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which was launched in 2015 with an aim to aggressively capture the premium hatchback segment share in the four-vehicle segment, has successfully turned up to become a high volume vehicle in the market. Maruti Suzuki Baleno is available in two variants, petrol and diesel, with a starting price of Rs 5.35 lakh and Rs 6.51 lakh, respectively. Reports suggest the Baleno is India’s third largest selling car, after Dzire and the Alto 800.

Maruti Baleno, is mainly offered in four variants for both petrol and diesel models - Sigma, Zeta, Delta and Alpha. 

The petrol unit is powered by a 1.2-litre engine that generates 84/115Nm, while the diesel unit is powered by a 1.3-litre engine that generates 75PS/190Nm. 

Engines of both variants are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. However, the petrol version is also available in a CVT gearbox. 

Fuel efficiency: 21.4kmpl and 27.39kmpl for petrol and diesel respectively.
