According to  Cartoq.com report, Mahindra is shying away from using the ‘Ssangyong’ brand name as the exercise didn’t go well with the outgoing Rexton RX7. The remaining stock is now being offered with discounts of up to Rs 9.5 lakh!

At its ex-showroom, the Rexton RX7 currently is priced at Rs 25.99 lakh. However, with the latest offer now being announced, this car would be available for Rs 20 lakh on road which includes road tax, registration and insurance.

With this, Rexton RX7 has now become cheaper than Mahindra's XUV500 and the Toyota Innova Crysta.

Powered 2696-cc diesel engine with 186 bhp of power and 402 Nm of torque, the Rexton RX7 engine is mated to an automatic gearbox with AWD (all-wheel drive) as standard.

Available as 7-seat SUV, the Rexton RX7 is packed with features like powered driver’s seat, sunroof, leather upholstery, cruise control and ESP (electronic stability control) among others.

Mahindra found love for the Ssangyong model in 2010. However, the latter’s second innings will come in the form of the XUV700  on  Indian road.

Reportedly, this new-generation Rexton has been tested extensively for Indian road conditions and will witness a formal launch on 9th October.

Furthermore, the suspension has been reworked for India. While the model will be packed with a 2.2-litre diesel with 187 bhp/420 Nm along with a 7-speed torque converter.
