The base model (M2) of the vehicle costs Rs 9.99 lakh  (ex-showroom) while the top-end variant (M8) will cost Rs 13.99 lakh. There are four variants in total - M2, M4, M6 and M8 and all are available for sale starting today.

However, if you want to buy the petrol engine variant of the car, you will have to wait till 2020. The company plans to roll out the petrol variant once the BS-VI regulations get implemented.

Derived from Basque, a sub-language of  Spanish, the word ‘Marazzo’ means shark. "The Mahindra Design Studio and Italian design house Pininfarina have collaborated closely during the design development process -as a result, the Marazzo reflects a design language that is an integral part of Mahindra’s bold, new generation of vehicles," said the company.

The vehicle has two seating options - 7-seater and 8-seater and will compete against Toyota Innova Crysta, Renault Lodgy and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The company has spent around $200 million to make this product a reality.

The car's design features a streamlined and aerodynamic shape, in the overall silhouette and in the front grille inserts which resemble shark-like teeth and adds to the vehicle’s aggressive stance. The design cues further flow into the tail lamps that are inspired by the tail of a shark.

A 1.5 litre, four-cylinder D15 diesel engine powers the vehicle. Other features include 43.18 cm alloy wheels, high mounted LED stop lamps and fog lamps, power adjustable and foldable ORVMs, cluster with purple illuminator, tambour door centre console and luggage space of 190 litre (with all seat upright). The vehicle has two seating options - seven-seater and eight-seater.

Marazzo is available in six colours - Aqua Marine, Mariner Maroon, Poseidon Purple, Oceanic Black,  Iceberg White, and Shimmering Silver.
