While specific technical details are being kept closely guarded, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has disclosed that the Defender Octa will offer a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, a departure from the supercharged 'AJ' unit found in existing eight-cylinder Defender models. It is widely speculated that the Octa will utilise the potent 4.4-liter BMW-sourced powerplant seen in various Range Rover models, offering formidable performance figures of 618hp and 800Nm of torque. Such power catapults the hefty SUV from 0 to 100kph in a mere 3.8 seconds, promising exhilarating acceleration for enthusiasts.

In a nod to its off-road prowess and on-road refinement, the Octa is expected to feature the '6D Dynamic' suspension system, a technology borrowed from the Range Rover Sport SV. This innovative system can adjust damping forces, enhancing both off-road capability and on-road comfort without compromising stability. Land Rover is rigorously being tested spanning diverse terrains, from the icy landscapes of Sweden to the scorching deserts of Dubai, and the demanding tracks of the Nürburgring.

Leaked images of the Defender Octa reveal 'Brembo brakes' emblasoned with the distinctive Octa diamond logo, hinting at the vehicle's formidable on-track performance capabilities. Additionally, unique Octa branding adorns the steering wheel and side-pannier mounts, emphasising the model's exclusivity.
