Since it's now been officially confirmed that Kia's first car in India will be SELTOS, many car lovers are eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of the South Korean automotive giant's SUV. Kia Seltos will be based on the SP2i concept shown in 2018 Auto Expo. It is set to be officially unveiled in India on 20th June 2019. But, do you know how SELTOS got its name?

- The name ‘Seltos’ is inspired by Greek mythology and the legend of ‘Celtos’ the son of Hercules

- According to Kia, "Representing the brave and assertive spirit of Celtus, the ‘S’ in the car’s adapted name implies speed, sportiness and strength."

Kia says, "The Seltos has been created for the young-at-heart people who like to take risks, embrace the outdoors, take on challenges and never back down.. The Seltos combines the practicality of a mid-SUV with the capabilities of a traditional SUV – all in a compact package, but without compromises."

"Aimed at the new age and tech-savvy buyers, the cabin is characterized by broad, sweeping lines and sophisticated detailing. Seltos comes equipped with a range of connected technologies to maximize convenience, comfort and ease of use," adds the company statement.

The Kia Seltos will be manufactured at Kia’s facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh where it will be made for the world. Kia’s Seltos is all set to have its world premier in India on June 20th and will be launched in the second half of 2019. 

Earlier, Kia had revealed the interior images. Noteworthy, Kia's upcoming mid-size SUV is inspired by 2019 Kia SP Signature Concept and it is now highly anticipated in India.

-TECHNICAL DETAILS: 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment
-NEW FEATURE OF AMBIENCE: Sound Mood Lighting - Kia’s Sound Mood Lighting technology can alter the cabin’s ambient lighting to suit occupants’ -preferences, creating a personalized driving experience
-Metallic highlights in the air vents
-Grab-bar on the passenger side of the centre console
-Centre console allows certain features – such as ventilation and air conditioning

Moreover, ahead of the launch of its much-awaited compact SUV, Kia has already created a buzz in India market as the first TVC ad of Kia for the Indian market, titled “Magical Inspirations, Stunning Designs” achieved the big feat of becoming the most viewed advertisement in India.
