In an announcement made on Tuesday, Kia India revealed the immediate appointment of Gwanggu Lee as the new Managing Director and CEO.

Gwanggu Lee takes over from Tae Jin Park, who is retiring after a 36-year tenure with Kia Corporation, which included a four-year stint with Kia India, according to a statement from the automaker.

Having served in leadership roles across developed and developing economies, Lee brings a wealth of experience from positions in the US, Canada, Italy, Mexico, Kia Headquarters in Central and South America, and Kia Europe Headquarters in Germany.

The statement highlighted Lee's significant contribution to Kia's growth and establishment as a production and export hub during his recent role as President at Kia Mexico.

Expressing confidence in Kia India's trajectory, Lee mentioned the successful launches of the new Seltos and the new Sonet, with more innovative products in the pipeline, positioning the company for sustainable business growth.

Lee shared his vision for the future, stating, "My goal is to usher in the next phase of growth by creating inspiring Kia brand experiences, thereby generating enduring value for our customers, partners, and employees."

Currently offering five models in the Indian market, including the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens, Kia India appears poised for continued success under Gwanggu Lee's leadership.
