From domestic to international automobile companies such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, TVS Motor,Bajaj Auto among others reported their July sales numbers on Monday.

As the supply situation for electronic components improves, the sector's prospects are expected to advance, aided by commodity price corrections and increased demand visibility, Saji John, Research Analyst at Geojit Financial Services.

Since the beginning of April 2022, there has been a 30-40 percent correction in the international prices of aluminium, copper, and steel, the analyst said. “In July, average domestic PV and CV volume increased by 17.7% and 37.8% YoY, respectively.”

“We anticipate a revival in the 2w wheeler industry in the second half of the year, thanks to the festive season, good monsoon, and increased farm activity. Other positive indicators include an increase in the EV share and favourable valuation to support growth,” John mentioned.

Mahindra tractor July Sales 

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on Monday reported a 14 per cent drop in its total tractor sales to 23,307 units in July. The company had sold 27,229 tractors in the same month last year. 

Domestic tractor sales declined 16 per cent to 21,684 units in July 2022 from 25,769 units in the same month a year ago, the company said in a statement. 

Tata Motors July Sales 

Tata Motors on Monday reported a 51.12 per cent increase in total sales at 81,790 units in July 2022, driven by the strong performance of its passenger vehicles in the domestic market. The company had sold a total of 54,119 units in domestic and international markets in July last year. 

The total domestic sales were at 78,978 units last month compared to 51,981 units in July 2021, a growth of 52 per cent, it added. Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market stood at 47,505 units as compared to 30,185 units in the year-ago month, up 57 per cent. 

Passenger electric vehicle sales were at 4,022 units, up from 604 units in July last year, the company said. Tata Motors said its sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market stood at 31,473 units in July 2022 compared to 21,796 units in the same month last year. 

Maruti Suzuki India July Sales 

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Monday reported an 8.28 per cent increase in total sales to 1,75,916 units in July 2022. The company had sold a total of 1,62,462 units in the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) said in a regulatory filing. 

Domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 6.82 per cent last month to 1,42,850 units compared to 1,33,732 units in July 2021. 

Honda Cars India July Sales 

Honda Cars India on Monday said its domestic sales last month increased by 12 per cent at 6,784 units. The maker of City and Amaze also exported 2,104 units last month. 

The company had reported sale of 6,055 units in the domestic market and 918 units in overseas markets in July last year. 

TVS Motor July Sales 

TVS Motor Company on Monday reported a 13 per cent increase in total sales at 3,14,639 units in July. The company had posted a total sales of 2,78,855 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. 

Total two-wheelers sales were up 14 per cent at 2,99,658 units last month, as against sales of 2,62,728 units in July 2021, it added. Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 2,01,942 units as compared to 1,75,169 units in the year-ago month, up 15 per cent, the company said. 

Skoda Auto July Sales  

Skoda Auto on Monday said its wholesales increased by 44 per cent to 4,447 units in July. The company had dispatched 3,080 units to dealers in July 2021. 

The Octavia and Superb are doing well in their respective segments and the Kodiaq has already sold out soon after its launch in January, the company said. 

Kia India July Sales 

Kia India on Monday said its wholesales increased by 47 per cent to 22,022 units in July as compared with the same month last year.               The company had dispatched 15,016 units in July 2021. 

The automaker sold 8,451 units of Seltos and 7,215 units of Sonet last month. Besides, it sold 5,978 units of Carens and 288 units of Carnival in July. 

Ashok Leyland July Sales 

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland on Monday said its total vehicle sales, including exports, jumped 58 per cent year-on-year to 13,625 units in July. The company had sold a total of 8,650 vehicles in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. 

Sales of Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV), which include trucks and buses, rose 113 per cent to 8,148 units last month compared to 3,822 units sold in July 2021. 

The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment sales also increased 13 per cent to 5,477 units last month in comparison to July 2021 sales of 4,828 vehicles, Ashok Leyland said. 

Total domestic sales (M&HCV+LCV) during the previous month stood at 12,715 units, an increase of 56 per cent over 8,129 units in July 2021, the company said. 

Hyundai Motor India July Sales  

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Monday reported 6 per cent increase in total sales at 63,851 units in July 2022.  

The company had sold 60,249 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales were at 50,500 units last month as against 48,042 units in July 2021, a growth of 5.1 per cent, HMIL said in a statement. 

Exports grew 9.4 per cent at 13,351 units as compared to 12,207 units in the year-ago month, it added. 

Bajaj Auto 2-wheeler July Sales  

Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a 5 per cent drop in its total two-wheeler sales at 3,15,054 units in July 2022. The Pune-based automaker had sold a total of 3,30,569 two-wheelers in July last year. 

Domestic two-wheelers sales increased by 5 per cent to 1,64,384 units in July 2022 against 1,56,232 units in the year-ago period while exports dropped 14 per cent to 1,50,670 units as compared to 1,74,337 units in the same month of last year, the company said in a regulatory filing. 

Toyota Kirloskar July Sales  

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Monday reported its highest-ever dispatches in a month at 19,693 units in July. The company's wholesales were 50 per cent more than 13,105 units it sold in July 2021. 

MG Motor India July Sales  

MG Motor India on Monday reported a 5 per cent decline in retail sales at 4,013 units in July as production impacted by supply chain constraints. The company had registered retail sales of 4,225 units in the same month last year.
