Indian tyre manufacturer JK Tyre & Industries Ltd has inaugurated the first JK Retread Centre in Pokhara, Nepal. This is JK Tyre’s first Retread Centre in Nepal, and the tyre maker has plans to open 100 such centres by 2020. JK Tyre entered the retreading business in 2009 by setting up a retread rubber manufacturing facility at Kankroli, Rajasthan. JK Tyre Retread facilities cater to various State Transport Corporations and Fleets in the domestic market across pre-cured rubber treads and allied material categories.

"The retread centre adds another feather to the cap of JK Tyre in its bid to consolidate the company’s presence internationally through an exclusive service network of providing quality retreading for bias and radial tyres," a company statement said.

According to the tyre maker, "Strategically located in Pokhara, a potential market of TBB, LCV & PCR tyres, the centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, machinery and trained manpower. It offers company-recommended repair and retread procedures to bring down the cost-per-kilometre for customers."
