Hyundai Motors India, Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Honda Cars India and KIA Motors emerged the top carmakers in terms of dealer satisfaction, according to a survey by industry body FADA.

At the aggregate industry level, the average dealer satisfaction score increased to 767 in 2023, higher by 48 points compared with the previous year, according to the survey.

In the two-wheeler segment, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India was at the top position, followed by Royal Enfield and Hero MotoCorp at the third and fourth spots, respectively, whereas TVS Motor Company and Yamaha Motor India secured the fourth and fifth positions, respectively, according to the survey.

Among commercial vehicle makers, VECV-Eicher Motors enjoyed the top position, followed by Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland at the second and third positions, respectively, according to the survey.

FADA conducted the 2023 edition of its dealer satisfaction study in partnership with PremonAsia, a Singapore-based provider of consumer insights and advisory services.

"The year-over-year improvements underscore the vital role of this annual study in pinpointing critical issues to bolster the Auto OEM-Dealer partnership. While Auto Dealers are increasingly optimistic, concerns regarding dealership viability and policy collaboration with OEMs demand immediate attention.

Looking ahead, high-impact areas such as unsold inventory clearance and actions against Multi-Brand Outlets (MBOs) present ample opportunities for improvement,” said Manish Raj Singhania, President of FADA.
