A new chapter was added to the much talked about electric vehicle (EV) segment as Hyundai on Tuesday launched its 1st electric car - KONA - in India. The launch of the South Korean automotive giant's 1st EV KONA took place at Buddh International F1 Circuit (BIC), Greater Noida. Hyundai, which is the country's second-largest producer of passenger vehicles, is firming up plans in the electric vehicle segment. Noteworthy, Hyundai Kona will be India’s first fully electric SUV. Hyundai had announced plans to launch its first electric vehicle in a completely knock-down (CKD) form, which would be assembled at HMIL's manufacturing plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
