Launched by the government as part of a pilot project to reduce pollution, the two wheeler is expected to bring down travel cost by 40%, said GAIL as reported by Zee Business.

On the pollution front, the hydrocarbon emission in CNG retrofitted two wheelers are 75% lesser and carbon emissions are lesser by 20% as compared to a petrol driven two wheeler, according to an Overdrive report.

The two wheeler will contain two cylinders, with each cylinder weighing 1 kg each.

The scooter is expected to cover a distance of 120 km with one fill of the tanks.

While Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) will implement this initiative, ITUK Manufacturing will manufacture the CNG kit.

IGL has commissioned 90 CNG station in 5 months.

The 2nd pilot project for the scooter will be launched after a month.
