Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India unveiled the Jeep Compass in India on Wednesday. The Jeep Compass is the company's most affordable SUV in India. The car is expected to take on the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.

FCA also announced that it will produce the Jeep Compass at India at its Ranjangaon Factory near Pune and will start production of the Jeep Compass by June this year.

The Jeep Compass is expected to priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh. This makes it considerable cheaper than the other Jeep's which are priced in India as for instance the Jeep Wrangler starts at Rs 56 lakh, while the Grand Cherokee begins at Rs 93 lakh and goes over Rs 1 crore.

The Jeep Compass with two engines options ie a 1.4 litre petrol variant which dishes out a power of 160BHP and 250Nm torque, and a 2.0 litre diesel variant with gives out 170BHP power and 350Nm torque. It was comes with a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed auto box.

It has a 4x4 drive system that drive modes and will include options such as Snow, Sand and Rock terrain. It also comes with 50 safety features to keep the car and its occupants safe.
