Putting all speculation to rest, Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer Toyota in an exclusive statement to Zee Business Online has confirmed that the company is going to make an entry into a new segment with an upcoming product named Toyota Glanza. As far as the price and launch date is confirmed, Toyota, in a statement to Zee Business Online, added, "Any further details on the product, variants, specifications and price will be shared at the official launch date." According to Toyota, the carmaker's entry into a new segment is driven by the need to cater to the growing demands of Toyota's existing and prospective customers. Recently, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) had announced the launch of the improved Innova Crysta and Fortuner. 

Earlier, Toyota Kirloskar Motor had recorded a sales growth of 7% in FY 18-19 as compared to FY 17-18. Innova Crysta had registered positive growth in FY 18-19 as compared to FY 17-18. According to a company statement, "The recently launched All New Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle or self-charging electric vehicle has been received very well by customers across India." The company saw a growth of 6% in Camry Sales in Jan-March 2019 as compared to the same period last year. All New Camry Hybrid Electric Vehicle or self-charging electric vehicle has already crossed 500 bookings since its launch in Jan 2019. 

Additionally, Etios Liva had also contributed to the positive sales momentum in FY 18-19 with a growth of 13% as compared to FY 17-18, as per a company statement.
