The festive season in India, especially Diwali, is traditionally known to be an occasion to purchase big ticket items, and to take advantage of it companies come out with great offers to lure the prospective buyers. Aiming at this opportunity in the Indian auto market, luxury Italian motorcycle brand Ducati, owned by German Volkswagen Group, has launched the special edition of Ducati 959 Panigale Corse superbike priced at Rs 15.20 lakh in India.
 
According to a company statement, "The 959 Panigale Corse represents the highest sporting expression of the famous twin cylinder from Borgo Panigale. Thanks to the Öhlins suspensions, the lithium-ion battery and a dedicated livery inspired by the MotoGP colours, the 959 Panigale Corse is ready to hit the track." The bike is priced at a starting $15,395.
 
The brand is eager to take advantage of the festive season to aggressively market its superbikes, as Diwali season accounts for about 15-20 per cent of the total two-wheeler annual sales in the country. The brand, which competes in both the World Superbike and MotoGP World Championships, has reportedly sold 55,871 bikes globally in calendar year 2017.
 
The company claiming "perfect balance" states, "Power and lightness. Performance and control. The 959 Panigale achieves the perfect balance of these elements. The power of the 955 cc twin cylinder Superquadro and the exclusive monocoque frame create a unique mix of performance and ease of riding. Lightweight, easy to handle and controllable thanks to the technical equipment like the Brembo monobloc brakes with Bosch ABS, the slipper clutch, the advanced and adjustable suspensions and all the control and management electronics." 
 
The new superbike's lines are "enhanced by a two-colour livery, white mixing with the classic Ducati red, which in this case is matt like on the Desmosedici MotoGP thus making the bike immediately recognisable."
 
Other key features:
 
1.The Ducati Traction Control system (DTC) supervises the rear wheel slipping control and settings vary through eight different levels that are programmed to offer a different tolerance level to rear wheel slipping.
 
2. The 959 Panigale dashboard is an advanced multifunctional LCD unit whose layout is derived from the excellent experience gained by Ducati Corse in competitions like the Superbike and MotoGP world championships.
