A Pune based electric scooter company, Avan Motors, has launched a new Xero Plus electric scooter, which comes with twin battery packs that can be charged in 4-6 hours to offer a combined range of 110 kms, said a RushLane report, adding the new scooter aims to promote use of electric vehicles in the country.

Earlier showcased in September 2018, the Aero Plus has been unveiled with an affordable price of Rs 47,000, according to the report. The new electric scooter is being offered in three color options of Red, Blue and White. 

Avan Motors reportedly stated that the new scooter receives an 800 Watts electric motor with dual lithium-ion battery packs, 8kg each, which can be charged in 2-4 hours. A single battery is set to offer a range of 60 kms and a combined range of 110 kms per charge.

Further, the report said the batteries can be charged via a regular household power supply socket. The setup allows for a top speed of 45 kmph, as the vehicle gets a 15.2 liter top box at the rear for added storage space.

If we look the features, Avan Xero Plus comes with disc brake in the front and drum brake at the rear, while suspension is via telescopic forks in the front and twin coil spring units at the rear. 

With a capacity to carry maximum load of 150 kgs, Avan Xero Plus comes with an extended warranty option and initial spare parts tool kit. Further, the company is also extending after sales service and road side assistance to buyers. 

Pankaj Tiwari, Business Development Head at Avan Motors reportedly said that the Xero+ has received a great deal of response from buyers, and its launch has paved the way for future eco friendly products as the company is planning new scooters and vehicles across various categories. 

Avan Xero Plus is likely to compete against similar vehicles like Okinawa Praise, Ather 340 and Ather 450.

The company plans to sell around 25,000 units of electric scooters in 2019 which will be further increased to 1 lakh.
