Its rival Bajaj Chetak base variant is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh and the TVS i-Qube base variant priced Rs 1.23 lakh ex-Bengaluru. Building upon the success of Ather's popular 450 platform, the company claims superior performance and technology in 450S as compared to both 125cc petrol scooters and electric vehicles (EVs). Notable features include category-leading torque and acceleration, India's first Deep View Display Dashboard, a 5-year battery warranty, and more.

Announcing the price cut, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, stated, “Ather is aggressively expanding to meet the surging demand for electric scooters. In line with this, we are adding approximately 100 retail touchpoints this quarter, bringing our total touchpoints to 350. Additionally, we have reintroduced the 450S at a compelling price point, appealing to a broader range of buyers. The new pricing makes the Ather 450S an enticing value proposition, offering Ather's quality and assurance at a more accessible price.”

Ather 450S: Features

The 450S offers a 2.9 kWh battery capacity, a 115km IDC range, a 0–40 acceleration time of 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 90 km/hr. It features a 7-inch display with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and industry-first auto-brightness.

Safety features include FallSafe technology, which detects changes in speed, orientation, and acceleration to prevent falls.

It also has features such as 'Emergency Stop Signal' and coasting regen, enhancing the scooter's efficiency by up to 7 per cent. "Buyers also have the option to opt for the Pro Pack, at an additional cost of Rs 10,000, unlocking features like Ride Assist, Ather battery protect, AtherStack updates, and three years of free Ather Connect," says the company.

Ather 450S: Battery Protect

The company offers a warranty program that ensures a 5-year/60,000 km coverage. The Ather 450X now includes Ather Battery Protect as standard, offering a 3+2 years coverage. Ather 450 Plus owners can purchase an additional 2-year warranty for Rs 6,999.
