Aprilia launched the RS457 in India on Friday, December 12, at the IBW (India Bike Week), 2023. It is the brand's first made-in-India motorcycle. The bike is said to be designed specially for the athletes, for the racing enthusiasts and for the new generation of bikers.

The Aprilia RS 457 is priced at Rs 4.10 lakhs (ex-Maharashtra). Customers can pre-book the sports bike from 15 December 2023 on the Aprilia India website as well as at the Aprilia Motoplex Dealerships across India for Rs 10,000 only.

The start of deliveries of the sports bike is tentatively announced from March 2024. The announcement was made by Mr Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd at the India Bike Week in Goa.

The new Aprilia RS 457 makes its Indian debut following its design and development at Aprilia's headquarters in Italy, at the same technical HQ that produces superbikes and MotoGP bikes.

The full LED front headlight features the signature lighting style of the latest Aprilia generation complete with integrated turn signals. The instrumentation uses an effective 5-inch TFT colour instrument while the handlebar controls are backlit.

Apart from having enhanced technological equipments, the new Aprilia RS 457 is light-weight, easy to ride on both road and on the track, claims the company.

The Aprilia RS 457 is powered by a liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine with dual camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder, capable of 35 KW of power (the maximum for a bike that can be ridden with an A2 licence). The Aprilia RS 457's power-to-weight ratio is 159 kg dry weight.

The aluminium frame makes the Aprilia RS 457 unique among bikes in its segment. The engine block is used as a load-bearing element which is similar to the Aprilia RS 660.
