The roadshows for the Vibrant Ceramic Expo 2017 were conducted in nearly 65 countries globally and their representatives along with those from smart cities in India would participate in the event VCES president Nilesh Jetpariya told reporters in Goa yesterday.

"India is the second largest tiles market in the world. While the global tiles production grew at an annualised rate of 6.3 per cent for the period 2006-2013, the production of tiles in India grew almost double at 12 per cent during the same period," Jetpariya said.

The market of ceramic tiles, that accounts for close to 60 per cent of the total tiles demand in the country, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.7 per cent for the period 2014-2019, he said.

"It is our constant endeavour to keep innovating and contribute to the country's economic growth and create further employment across states. At present, we are contributing close to USD 4 billion in revenue and employ more than 10 lakh skilled and unskilled personnel," he said.

The exhibition will showcase the latest technology used in manufacturing ceramic tiles, sanitary-ware, and bath-fittings, the expo's CEO, Sandip Patel, said.
