Sugar prices rolled down by Rs 70 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following mounting of stocks on regular supplies but selective buying squeezed the fall.

According to marketmen, huge availability of stocks on non-stop supplies from mills mainly pulled down sweetener prices but selective buying by stockists and bulk consumers capped losses.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices also slipped by Rs 70 each to finish at Rs 3,860-4,030 and Rs 3,850-4,020 per quintal.

Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 40 each to settle the day at Rs 3,550-3,800 and Rs 3,540-3,790 per quintal.

In mill gate section, Anupshaher, Baghpat, Morna and Nanota sugar prices declined by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,550, Rs 3,600, Rs 3,590 and Rs 3,550, while Mawana, Ramala, Sakoti and Nazibabad also moved down by Rs 3,720, Rs 3,560, Rs 3,660 and Rs 3,580 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal) Sugar retail markets - Rs 37.00-41.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,860-4,030, S-30 Rs 3,850-4,020.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,550-3,800, S-30 Rs 3,540-3,790.
