Sterlite Tech today said it has bagged an order from UAE-based telecom service provider, du, to enable the latter's Internet of Things and Fibre-to-the- home network infrastructure through its technologies.

The company did not disclose the size of the order.

In a statement here, Sterlite Tech said it "will be enabling UAE-based telecommunications service provider du to roll out futuristic networks, Internet of Things (IoT) and Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services through its smarter network technologies, over the next three years".

Sterlite Tech will supply optical fibre cables for outdoor and indoor requirements, it added.

"Through this agreement, we will be a key supplier of optical fibre products...for du's Internet of Things and FTTH requirements in UAE, over the next three years," Ankit Agarwal, Head of Global Sales, Sterlite Tech, said.

This, in turn, will enable du to offer solutions for high-bandwidth consuming applications including Augmented and Virtual Reality, and Driverless Cars, it added.

Sterlite has an on-going relationship with du for the past six years, and the latest mandate renewes the partnership for range of optical communication technologies.
