Refined soya oil prices edged higher by 0.45 per cent to Rs 754.30 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in built-up of fresh positions, driven by uptick in demand at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for January went up by Rs 3.40, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 754.30 per 10 kg with an open interest of 26,690 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in December edged up by 45 paise, or 0.06 per cent to Rs 735.80 per 10 kg in 37,720 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand in the physical market against tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from growing regions, mainly led to rise in refined oil prices at futures trade.
