Soybean prices rose by Rs 31 to Rs 3,376 per quintal in futures trade today as traders increased holdings, guided by robust global trend.

Marketmen said operators went for the long positions on the back of rising prices overseas, which led to the uptick in soybean futures prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for the October cntract spurted by Rs 31, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 3,376 per quintal, in an open interest of 52,320 lots.

Similarly, the delivery of the November contract inched higher by Rs 25, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 3,370 per quintal with an open interest of 27,980 lots.
