Soybean prices eased by Rs 8 to Rs 2,851 per quintal in futures trading today as participants cut down their positions, tracking a weak trend overseas.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean for the most-active, delivery in December month contracts eased by Rs 8 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 2,851 per quintal, with the business turnover of 1,90,930 lots.

While the delivery for the immediate contract November month edged lower by Rs 3 or 0.11 per cent to Rs 2,807 per quintal, in an open interest of 6,790 lots.

The fall in soybean prices in futures trade was due to offloading of positions by participants in line with a weak trend in global market, marketmen said.
