CK Birla group firm Orient Cement today reported a net profit of Rs 10.15 crore in the second quarter ended September 30.

The company had reported a net loss of Rs 29.39 crore in the year-ago quarter, Orient Cement said in a BSE filing.

Revenue from operations was at Rs 523.07 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 444.93 crore in the same period last fiscal.

Total expenses during the second quarter were at Rs 513.93 crore as compared to Rs 495.78 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, the company said.

Shares of Orient Cement were trading at Rs 179.35 apiece in the afternoon trade, up 4.12 per cent from the previous close on BSE.
