Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laid the foundation stone for expansion of the Paradeep Phosphates Ltd's manufacturing facility at Paradeep.

In December 2016, PPL had committed Rs 9,459.17 crore for the expansion of its fertiliser manufacturing unit at Paradeep seaport town under the 'Make in Odisha' initiative.

In a statement, the Adventz Group firm said the chief minister laid the foundation stone via video conference from his office.

As per the approved proposal, the company will increase its manufacturing capacity across its products range.

State Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout, Public Enterprises Minister Kulamani Samal, Lok Sabha MP Jagatsinghpur were present at the event.

PPL (Paradeep Phosphates Ltd) manufactures and markets complex and intermediary products such as phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid, crucial in the making of Phosphatic fertilisers.
