Lead futures down by 0.43pc on muted demand

Lead prices were down 0.43 per cent to Rs 149.20 per kg amid muted domestic demand in futures trading today as participants trimmed their exposure.

Lead for delivery in September declined by 60 paise or 0.43 per cent to Rs 149.20 per kg in a business turnover of 353 lots.

The metal for delivery in October also fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 150 per kg in 10 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in lead futures was triggered by a weak trend at spot markets due to sluggish demand from consuming industries, particularly battery-makers.
