Industrialist KPS Keshri was today unanimously elected as the president of Bihar Industries Association (BIA) for the year 2017-18.

Keshri was elected at BIA's 73rd annual general meeting (AGM) which was held at BIA premises, BIA secretary Anil Kumar Sinha said in a release.

Keshri, who has already served as BIA president thrice in the year 2001-03, 2005-07 and 2011-13, is the managing director of Amrapali Foods.

Other five office-bearers- including three vice president, secretary general, treasurer and 27 members of executive council- were also elected during the AGM.

Sanjay Bhartiya and Sheo Kumar Maskara have been once again re-elected for the post of vice-president while the general body has also elected Ramesh Chandra Gupta as its third vice president, Sinha said.

Arvind Kumar Singh has been elected as secretary general while Subodh Kumar Goel has been elected as treasurer.

The AGM also passed resolutions on Industry, Power, Taxation, Banking & Finance, Labour Laws, Environment and Infrastructure facilities like Road, Bridge and Airport, Railways and Bridge, the release said.

The Industry body requested both the Central and state governments to consider their points and suggestions, which it (BIA) has enumerated in the resolutions, for Bihar's industrial development, it added.
