Kimberley Process is a joint initiative of governments, industry and civil societies to stem flow of 'conflict diamonds', the rough diamonds used by rebel groups to finance wars against legitimate governments.

"India will be leading a team for country review of Bangladesh and Indonesia under KPCS for #Kimberlyprocess in 2018. Besides, India shall participate in KPCS country review of Canada, South Korea and Angola in 2018," the Department of Commerce said in a tweet.

India will assume the Vice-Chair post for Kimberley Process (KP) in 2018 and the position of Chair in 2019.
