The Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) urged state governor Satya Pal Malik's to intervene for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to industrial areas like Bari Brahmana, Birpur and Gangyal in Jammu region.

The acute power crisis is being faced by the industrial units over the past 15 days, bringing industrial activities to standstill and resulted in huge financial losses to unit holders, BBIA said in a statement after a meeting here.

Despite repeated requests and reminders to the department, no action has been taken, the association said adding the frequent and unscheduled power cuts have disturbed the production process.

It said Bari Brahmana industrial complex is contributing about Rs 160 crore annually for the power supply to the industrial units.

The association appealed to the Governor to intervene into the matter and issue immediate orders for the restoration of uninterrupted power supply to the industrial sector.
