GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd today reported a 20.42 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 211.81 crore for the quarter ended on March 31, 2018.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 175.88 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare said in a filing to BSE.

Total income of the company stood at Rs 1,263.75 crore for the quarter under consideration. It was Rs 1,279.72 crore for the same period year ago.

For the fiscal year ended March this year the company posted a net profit of Rs 700.10 crore as against Rs 656.68 crore for the previous fiscal year.

The company's total income for the fiscal year 2017-18 stood at Rs 4,634.46 crore. It was Rs 4,664.97 crore for the year ago period.

In a separate filing the company said its board has recommended a dividend at the rate of Rs 75 per equity share of Rs 10 each.

Shares of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare today closed at Rs 5,919.05 per scrip on BSE, up 0.78 per cent from its previous close.
