Mixed conditions persisted at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market during the week as prices of groundnut and soyabean oils surged at the the wholesale oils and oilseeds market during the week on pick up in demand from retailers, while a few others remained weak on adequate stocks position.

Castor oil in the non-edible oil section, drifted further lower, due to reduced offtake by consuming industries.

Marketmen said besides rising demand from retailers, driven by ongoing festive season against restricted restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in groundnut and soyabean oil prices but ample stocks position against muted demand kept other prices down.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery(Gujarat) oil spurted by Rs 300 to Rs 8,800 per quintal, while groundnut solvent refined edged up by Rs 1,650-1,750 per tin.

Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils also went up by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,000 and Rs 6,600 per quintal, respectively.

Coconut oil too rallied to Rs 2,450-2,500 from previous level of Rs 2,050-2,100 per tin.

On the other hand, palmolein (RBD) and palmolein (Kandla) oils shed Rs 50 each to Rs 6,000 and Rs 6,050 per quintal, respectively. Cottonseed mill delivery oil (Haryana) oil declined by Rs 100 to Rs 6,400 per quintal.

In the non-edible section, castor oil declined by Rs 100 to Rs 9,000-9,100 per quintal.(MORE)
