Groundnut oil surges in lacklustre trade

Groundnut oil prices surged in an otherwise lacklustre Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on sustained demand from stockists and retailers amid festive offtake.

While, refined palmolein, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil ruled steady in absence of any large-scale buying activities.

In the edible section, groundnut oil rose by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 890 from Thursday's close Rs 880 and refined palmolein ended unaltered to Rs 595 per 10 kg.

Moving the non-edible section, castorseed bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil closed unchanged at Rs 4,715 per 100 kg, Rs 973 per 10 kg and Rs 750 per 10 kg, respectively.
