Rajasthan aims to increase exports three-fold by 2022, state Industry Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat said.

He said the government is going to introduce an export promotion policy in one month which will be focused on increasing the exports three-fold by 2022.

The minister said exports from the state stood at Rs 46,000 crore in 2016.

"With the implementation of the export promotion policy, we aim to increase the export to Rs 1.21 lakh crore in the year 2022 from Rajasthan," the minister told reporters.

He said the government in the last four years has made efforts to boost investments and economic growth.

He added that close to 60 per cent of the investment commitments made during the Resurgent Rajasthan Summit in 2015 have been materialised or are under process.

The minister also said the government has prepared a detailed project report for an effluent treatment plant in Bhiwadi in Alwar district which will be sent to the Centre for approval.

"The state government will bear 25 per cent of the project cost and the Centre will be bear 50 per cent cost.

Rest 25 per cent cost will be borne by a trust of industrialists in Bhiwadi," he said.
