Hospitality firm EIH, which runs hotels and resorts under Oberoi and Trident brands, today reported a 48.02 per cent dip in its net profit to Rs 1.97 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2017.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 3.79 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, EIH Ltd said in a filing to BSE.

Total revenue of the company stood at Rs 293.32 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 298.44 crore for the same period a year ago.

In a separate filing to the bourses, EIH today said its board has appointed Dr Chhavi Rajawat as an independent director in the casual vacancy caused by the resignation of Renu Sud Karnad on August 2, 2017.

Rajawat who has an MBA degree, is the sarpanch of her village Soda in Tonk district in Rajasthan.

Shares of EIH Ltd today closed at Rs 155.95 per scrip on BSE, up 4.45 per cent form the previous close.
