Crude oil prices hardened by 0.46 per cent to Rs 3,260 per barrel in futures trading Friday as speculators created fresh bets, taking positive cues from the global markets.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 15, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 3,260 per barrel in a business turnover of 30,096 lots.

The oil for delivery in February, too, rose by a margin of 0.4 per cent, or Rs 13, to Rs 3,300 per barrel in 680 lots.

Globally, oil prices climbed Friday after tumbling 5 per cent in the previous session, with OPEC production cuts that start next month seen being deeper then previously expected.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) gained 70 cents to USD 46.58, while Brent crude rose 1.51 per cent to USD 55.17 per barrel.
