Crude oil futures eased by Rs 106 to Rs 4,297 per barrel Tuesday as speculators reduced their positions amid a weakening trend overseas.

Profit-booking at existing higher levels, too, weighed on crude prices, analysts said.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude for delivery in November was trading lower by Rs 106, or 2.41 per cent, to Rs 4,297 per barrel in 2,576 lots.

The oil for delivery in December also fell by Rs 103, or 2.33 per cent, to Rs 4,326 per barrel in a business volue of 518 lots.

The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude lost 1.35 per cent to USD 59.12, while Brent crude, the global benchmark fell 1.01 per cent to USD 69.41 a barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange.
