Copper and brass decline on subdued demand

Select copper and brass declined at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' selling amid subdued demand from industrial users.

While, copper utensils, zinc, lead and tin recovered marginally owing to fresh demand from alloy industries.

Copper sheet cuttings slipped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 405 from last Wednesday's close Rs 415 and brass utensils scrap slid by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 306 as against Rs 313, previously.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture and copper billets were moved down by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 440, Rs 430, Rs 415 and Rs 468 as compared Rs 445, Rs 435, Rs 420 and Rs 473, respectively.

Brass sheet cuttings edged down by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 322 from Rs 326 previously.

However, tin gained by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,400 as against Rs 1,390 Last Wednesday's level and lead rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 165 from Rs 160 previously.

Zinc moved up by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 238 as against Rs 234 previously and copper utensils edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 392 from Rs 390.
