Chana prices declined by 1.55 per cent to Rs 4,824 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposure amid subdued demand at spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December fell by Rs 76, or 1.55 per cent, to Rs 4,824 per quintal, with an open interest of 29,340 lots.

The commodity for delivery in January 2018 declined by Rs 71, or 1.47 per cent, to Rs 4,730 per quintal with open interest of volume stood at 21,540 lots.

Marketmen said trimming of positions by traders on the back of easing demand in physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly influenced chana prices at futures trade.
