by over 4 per cent after the company reported 7.54 per cent

increase in consolidated net profit for the second quarter

ended September 30.

The stock gained 4.10 per cent to settle at Rs 1,220.50

on BSE. During the day, it climbed 5.16 per cent to Rs 1,233.

Asian Paints was the biggest gainer among the 30-share

index components.

At NSE, shares of the company advanced by 4.15 per cent

to close at Rs 1,222.90.

In equity volume front, 2.13 lakh shares of the company

were traded on BSE and over 23 lakh shares changed hands at

NSE during the day.

Asian Paints today reported 7.54 per cent increase in

consolidated net profit to Rs 526.19 crore for the second

quarter ended September 30.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 489.26 crore

for the same period of previous fiscal.

Revenue from operations stood at Rs 4,274.18 crore for

the second quarter compared to Rs 4,178.61 crore in the same

period last fiscal, it said in a regulatory filing.
