US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States is opening the Strait of Hormuz for the world, stating that the "situation will never happen again". He also claimed that China has appreciated the move and agreed that it won't send weapons to Iran in the conflict.

He also wrote: "President Xi (Jinping) will give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks."
Trump's mention of an official visit to the Chinese capital comes roughly a fortnight after his visit was postponed due to the Middle East conflict.
According to foreign media reports, the US president is likely to visit Beijing in mid-May. This could be his first visit to China in eight years that will come a year after the US slapped sweeping global tariffs on most of its trade partners, including China.
"We are working together smartly, and very well!" wrote Trump, referring to China.
"Doesn’t that beat fighting?" he quipped, adding: "BUT REMEMBER, we are very good at fighting, if we have to - far better than anyone else!!!"
