Is something big about to happen in the US? US President Donald Trump has once again sparked political speculation with a cryptic message shared on his social media platform, Truth Social. In his post, Trump wrote, "A big night in politics. Thank you all," leading many to wonder what major development he may be referring to.

The statement came shortly after Julia Letlow secured victory in the Republican Senate primary in Louisiana, helping her advance to the runoff election. Trump’s backing is widely believed to have played a key role in her performance. State Treasurer John Fleming, who finished second in the race, will now face Letlow in the runoff.

Trump had openly supported Letlow over incumbent Senator Bill Cassidy, one of the few Republican senators who voted to convict him during his second impeachment trial after the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol.

Although Letlow had considered entering the race earlier, she officially joined after receiving Trump’s endorsement in January. By that time, Fleming had already launched his campaign, while Louisiana Governor Landry had reportedly suggested Letlow’s name to Trump.

Letlow’s political journey began under tragic circumstances. In 2020, her husband, Luke Letlow, was elected to the US House of Representatives but died from COVID-19 before taking office. Julia Letlow later won the seat in a special election held in March 2021 and was re-elected in both 2022 and 2024.

Meanwhile, Trump also targeted Tom Massie in another recent social media post. Criticising the Republican congressman, Trump wrote that Massie was the worst Republican Congressman in the history of our country and claimed he could not be trusted.
