Donald Trump names Sergio Gor as next US Ambassador to India

US President Donald Trump has taken to microblogging service Truth Social once again to make a major announcement, naming Sergio Gor as the next US Ambassador to India. Describing Gor as a “great friend” and longtime ally, Trump emphasised his deep trust in Gor to advance the administration’s agenda in the world’s most populous region. Gor will also be Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

Currently, Gor is serving as the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office. He has worked on Trump’s historic presidential campaigns, published his best-selling books, and managed one of the largest super political action committees (PACs) supporting the “America First” movement, according to the US president.

Lauding Gor’s efforts as Director of Presidential Personnel, Trump highlighted that Gor and his team have rapidly hired nearly 4,000 “America First Patriots” across every department of the federal US government. The President also claimed that departments and agencies are now over 95 per cent staffed in record time.

Gor will continue in his current role at the White House until his formal confirmation.

Congratulating Gor in his Truth Social post, Trump expressed confidence that Gor “will make an incredible Ambassador”.

For the most populous Region in the World, it is important that I have someone I can fully trust to deliver on my Agenda and help us, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Sergio will make an incredible Ambassador. Congratulations Sergio!" wrote Trump.
