Hurun Research has released its Hurun Global Rich List 2025. India has added 13 new billionaires in the list this year, according to the list. The total number stands at 284 now. The cumulative wealth of these billionaires is Rs 98 lakh crore.
According to Hurun Global data, 109 Indian billionaires had their wealth decline or stay the same, while 175 witnessed a growth in their wealth.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, 53, reclaimed the title of the wealthiest person in the universe for the fourth time in five years, and becoming the first individual to surpass the US $400 billion mark.
Jeff Bezos, 61, held off a recent surge from Mark Zuckerberg to retain second spot with US$266bn, up 44%, driven primarily by a surge in Amazon's stock price, fuelled by investor optimism over the impact of its cost cutting as well as its AI and cloud services.

Mukesh Ambani no longer among top 10 richest people in the world
India's Mukesh Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, is not among the top 10 richest individuals in the world, according to the Hurun Research data.
"Mukesh Ambani saw a decline of US$15 billion, as rising debt levels, reduced demand in key sectors, and increased competition for Reliance have further pressured its stock performance," the report said.
India's billionaires on the list
The combined wealth of Indian billionaires is about one-third of country's GDP and more than Saudi Arabia's entire GDP.
The other Indian billionaires in the list include Dilip Shanghvi & family (Rs 2.5 trillion net worth), Azim Premji & family (Rs 2.2 trillion), Kumar Mangalam Birla & family (Rs 2 trillion), Cyrus S Poonawalla & family (Rs 2 trillion), Niraj Bajaj & family (Rs 1.6 trillion), Ravi Jaipuria & family (1.4 trillion), and Radhakishan Damani & family (1.4 trillion).
Roshni Nadar debuts on the list
After her father, Shiv Nadar, transferred a 47 per cent share in HCL to her, Roshni Nadar became the first Indian woman to rank among the world's top 10 women. At the moment, she is the sixth wealthiest woman in the world.
Her net worth is Rs 3.5 trillion.
Individuals who lost their billionaire status
177 people have lost their billionaire status. This includes nearly half from China.
New joinees from the world
In the billionaire list, 387 new individuals have joined the list, with 96 from the USA and 91 from China, followed by India with 45.
