Every year, Amarnath Yatra attracts a lot of devotees. But there is no doubt that it is one of the most strenuous treks, and because of cold weather conditions, it can be tough, especially for the young and the elderly.

This year, Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2023 will commence on July 1, 2023, and end on August 31, 2023. Registrations have already started on April 17, 2023.

Here are some tips for Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

Pilgrims are advised to carry sufficient woollens such as sweaters, drawers, woollen trousers, monkey caps, etc.

Medical posts manned by qualified doctors and nursing staff are established en route. However, pilgrims are advised to carry generic medicines. If they have any specific illness, they are also advised to carry prescribed medicines.

Given that the Yatra passes through tough terrain, pilgrims are advised to insure themselves before heading to the Yatra.

Remember that you have to cross the Mahagunus Pass at an altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level. Therefore, it is now essential for an applicant Yatri to submit a Compulsory Health Certificate.

Ensure that the Ponywalla, labourer, and Dandiwalla from whom you take service during the Yatra are properly registered and carry a token.

All non-veg food items, alcohol, tobacco, gutka, pan masala, cigarettes, and other intoxicants are banned during the yatra.

However, foods like cereals, pulses, green vegetables, potatoes, saag, soya chunks, besan curry, plain dal, etc., are allowed.
