Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 first impression: More ergonomic

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is slightly thinner and lighter than Z Fold 4 and this makes the smartphone more ergonomic. This has been made possible with the use of the new Zero Gap Flex Hinge. The gap between the two screens has reduced significantly.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 first impression: Design

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has an armour aluminium frame and it not just gives the device a sturdy look but also a sense of confidence that your device will be safe in case of accidental falls. The icy blue colour variant which I am using looks cool and matte finish makes it smudge and fingerprint resistant.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 first impression: Display

The displays, both cover and main, look similar to Z Fold 4. However, the main screen this time is much brighter with peak brightness reaching 1750 nits.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 first impression: Main screen camera

Content consumption on the main screen is fun because the punch hole of the camera is not visible very promptly. This really makes a difference when it comes to the overall experience.

The sensors used in Galaxy Z Fold 5 are the same as Z Fold 4 but the camera module has slightly changed this time. The LED flash is separated from the camera module.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 first impression: Processor

This is one area that has witnessed a considerable upgrade. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, one of the most powerful chipsets available at the moment.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 first impression: Network strength

Despite the fact that I am not using any SIM in Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, the smartphone shows full network strength. This apparently looks like a bug which might be fixed with the next software update. We will share more details about the smartphone in our full review.
